| Benefits for Patrollers |
You might ask, what's in it for me besides the knowledge that you are assisting others in enjoying a wonderful sport and views like this at Sweep? Heavenly has a benefit package for active National Patrollers. Each season's benefits for an individual patroller are based on the amount of service that patroller provided the previous season. Candidates do not usually become eligible for benefits until they pass their Basic Test. Candidates' benefits are based on non-training "shadow" days only. An "Active" Patroller, is one who has put in a minimum of 14 patrols days the previous season. National Patrollers (and candidates) get free lift privileges for themselves while in uniform. Active National Patrollers (but not candidates) get a complimentary pass for any designated individual on the day that they are patrolling. Those National Patrollers that worked at least 14 days in the previous season are eligible to obtain a season pass for themselves, a family season pass for their dependents. Additional benefits include pro-form prices from various manufacturers, discounted gear at Heavenly Sports, discounted on-hill food prices, and annual Heavenly swag. If you itemize deductions on your federal tax return, your expenses while ski patrolling may be tax deductable as a charitable contribution. Consult your tax advisor. Expenses might include dues, transportation, lodging, meals and uniforms. |
